8th Grade - Welcome to the Orange Team!                                                                                            August  2026

We are very excited to have your child as part of our team this year!  Eighth grade year is a very important year filled with many academic endeavors as well as team and grade level activities.  Our goal is to work with you to give your child the best possible eighth grade experience.  To get us off to a successful beginning, here is a list of supplies each team teacher would like your student to have for their class:

  • History:  A binder shared from any other class. Pens and pencils.
  • Math: 1 inch binder, infinite pencils, erasers, lined paper in binder.
  • Science:  1 inch binder with dividers and an attachable pencil case with  pencils (I recommend mechanical) and highlighters.  These supplies will be used only for this class and will remain in the classroom.
  • Language Arts: One folder, and pens and pencils.
  • Your child will need headphones to use with their Chromebook.  Students may ONLY have wired earphones, we recommend cheap ones that can be purchased at Five Below or the Dollar Tree.
  • Additionally, if you would like to donate tissues and cleaning wipes they would be greatly appreciated.
  • We are working to help your child transition to high school and organization is essential to their success both this year and in their future as they become more and more independent.  If you need help attaining these supplies for your child, please do not hesitate to let one of us know and we will be happy to help.

A few pieces of information:

  • Lockers will be used so please make sure your student has a backpack/bag for their belongings that  can  fit in a locker.
  • The current cell phone policy states, “Cell Phones:  expected to be secured and turned off once students have entered the building”.   Your child’s cell phone should be in their locker for the day. If you need to get a hold of your child, please contact the main office.

We are very excited for the upcoming school year!  If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Speight through Parent Square or at [email protected].   We look forward to working with your family to make this a great year for your child.

Sincerely,

The Orange Team Teachers

8th Grade -  Welcome to the Red Team!                                                                                August 2026

We are eager to have your child as part of our team this year! Eighth grade is a very important year filled with many academic endeavors as well as team activities. Our goal is to work with you to give your child the best possible experience. To get us off to a successful beginning, here is a list of supplies for classes:

  • Math:
  • 1 or 1 ½ inch binder that will stay in class (no paper needed)
  • Pencils are a MUST
  •
  • English and Science
  • One shared 2 ½ inch three-ring binder – not zippered
  • One 3-hole punched folder in the binder (divider) - this can count for History
  • filler paper for both sections
  • Blue or black pens – required for English
  • Highlighters

  • History
  • One 3-hole punched folder
  • Index cards and highlighters are optional
  • Team donations of Kleenex, Clorox wipes, white board markers, or pens & pencils are greatly appreciated!

  • Wireless headphones are not permitted in the school, so please consider purchasing a cheap pair of wired earphones at Five Below or the Dollar Tree.  Expensive Airpods and bulky headphones tend to create unnecessary issues.  Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

We are working to help your child transition to high school. Organization is essential to their success both this year and in their future as they become more independent. If you need help attaining these supplies for your child, please do not hesitate to let one of us know; we will be happy to help.

We are very excited for the upcoming school year! If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Rand at [email protected].  We look forward to a successful year working together with your families.

Sincerely,

Ms. Dixon (Math)                            Mrs. Rand (Science)
